H20 Audio Review

By: Richelle Love

As triathletes we spend a large amount of time perfecting our swim. Many athletes find they hit the boredom factor during the swim as they spend hours staring at the bottom of the pool. I too recently struggled with finding motivation to swim as I spend hours in the pool training for Ironman later this summer. No matter what I did I would go to the pool, swim 500m and desperately want to get out to go do something (anything!) else.

Someone suggested an underwater MP3 player. I was skeptical and worried how they would work. I came across the H2O Audio system and I liked the fact that I could use my ipod that I used for running with the waterproof unit.

Some of the features of the H2O audio system:
• 100% Waterproof - Submersible to 12ft/3.6m underwater.
• Integrated goggle loops
• Easy to use, push buttons that align with the iPod button controls
• Includes 5 sets of Elastomer earplugs (XS-XL) for perfect sizing

That night I bought the unit, created a swim playlist for my ipod and headed to the pool. At the pool I snapped my ipod into the waterproof case and underwater I went. I immediately loved it! I was excited to hear the songs I selected; I even had a few of my “power run songs” (you know the one’s that get you really pumped up) and they got me swimming fast. The workout flew by and I loved having the music to keep me motivated through my workout. I actually enjoy swimming again and am able to power through my swim workouts without wanting to get out of the pool after only a few laps.
